Maybe it's because I found good neighbors, maybe it's because I embraced being weird, probably a bit of both, but I noticed it has been a long while since anyone was pushy with wrong assumptions. Common past assumptions have been that I needed a dom (when actually my dominant vibes disappear because of depression), and that I needed just a tiny bit more advice to become a Western Buddhist too (I'm something with different goals, and have a chip on my shoulder about mindfulness). It seems people assume others are either in need of their guidance or potential guides. Which brings us to the other side of this post: Don't be intimidated if you don't understand something I'm talking about. I'm playful, and sometimes vague on purpose, but not necessarily smart or right. We can all treat each other as equals without needing to be trying to do the same things. I think it's beautiful when community works that way.
