Look, I find the anti-car people to be close to the worst group of advocates on the planet. They really deeply suck to listen to. But ignore them. Improving public transportation improves life for when you're driving, too! Good train and bus systems, safe bike paths, they take cars off the road and free up parking spaces for people who often have great reasons to be driving instead. And most of us are not permanently one or the other. Both is the answer.
