Backstory of our team's best-paper-award-winning AR project 🏆 at #CSCW2022
Around 2021, @fannieliu got our team interested in a new puzzle: how could it be that (even before covid) society experienced a "loneliness epidemic" despite living in a 24/7 digitally connected world?
Perhaps, in an attempt to reduce friction, digital interactions decreased their meaningfulness and authenticity. Just compare the feeling of getting a Facebook ‘like’ with getting a handwritten note in the mail.
