If the US strategy of the Iran war was to topple the regime they have already failed. It is very obvious that the regime didn't fall over, and isn't going to, the protests from January did not continue and the regime is as stable as ever. The US air force can continue bombing, killing civilians and a few military personnel, but that will not topple the regime. To achieve this, US needs to put boots on the ground, and for that to succeed they need at least 500.000 troops, if not more.
