Discussing some particle physics with a friend:
You know, particle physics feels like an exasperated GM that is completely fed up with the players trying to dig more lore out of them.
- What are things made out of?
- Small particles that vibrate
- Okay, what are those particles made of?
- Uh... even smaller particles and tiny specks of electricity that orbit them.
- Okay, what are those made up of?
- You know what? Even tinier particles that go speeeen!
- Okay, why do they spin?
- I won't tell you, and if you try to observe them, they behave differently. Can we PLEASE just continue with the story?

This also presents an explanation for the Fermi paradox. Other GMs have pulled completely different explanations out of their butts and now they cannot allow the player groups to meet or else...
