@spacerog yup, every infosec & adjacent conf that I’ve been to at the bare minimum has an option for some version of “preferred name” to be printed on the badge I would also argue that unless all conf rego staff have been quite well trained in verifying many many forms of government ID then what they’re really doing is just security theatre / legal liability insurance theatre when it comes to countering physical threats
