I like making caramelized onions because they take a nice amount of time but not too long and I can do other things while they're caramelizing and just stir occasionally. And then I have something special to freeze and use in my food for the next few months. Anything else like this? A time investment (30-90 minutes) but not too fiddly such that you can spend most of that time on something else?
