Thru study of ancient European DNA, genetic markers passed by males (Y chromosomes) and females (mitochondrial DNA), one theory is that farming women “married” hunter men. How quaint. More likely: abduction and r*pe. But how to test this? Burials of high status women exist, that’s a start.
