@redstarfish Same here. I tolerate #Telegram because at least the client is libre, but I worry that it might become unacceptable one day.
I just hesitate to recommend #XMPP to friends because I'm still having trouble with it myself (like synchronizing chat history between clients, mobile and desktop).
