An app getting away with this is letting other apps know that it's okay to stay unencrypted. On the other hand, #TikTok isn't really designed for private communication. Access to chats could really help prevent harassment and grooming. Tbf if someone had private info leaked and I found out the info was sent via TikTok, I'm inclined to judge the user for sending info there of all places in the first place. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly2m5e5ke4o
