Just saw a post from someone saying they can’t bring themselves to care about Timothee Chalamet’s comments on ballet and opera, which is an entirely reasonable, even enviable, position to be in. I suppose one reason why I *do* care is that it’s part of a wider pattern of aggressive masculinity reasserting itself

It is significant when a trend manifests itself in even the most trivial of interactions – and it’s hard to conceive of anything more trivial than “Timothee Chalamet podcast conversation with Matthew McConaughey” – because it shows how deep the trend has sunk into our culture
