Our new oven has wifi* and it’s supposed to be able to update its own time, but it resolutely has the wrong hour today. I even tried toggling the setting off and on, which was fascinating because it would briefly flash the correct time before becoming wrong again. The problem with software eating the world is finding out how bad most software is. * Please do not reply to me to tell me that it’s bad that I let it connect to the internet. Rest assured I know the risks and I am capable of configuring my local firewall and DNS to mitigate them.
