people giving up on being anti-AI reminds me of people giving up on taking COVID precautions. except the former is way easier, because all it requires is that we take a principled stand against a technology that didn't even exist three years ago and probably won't exist in its current form three years from now.

@YKantRachelRead@social.treehouse.systems counterpoint: there's so many horrible things in the world that eventually we have to pick which hill we're going to die on, because you can only die on one of them. AI is an issue that comfortable people get to worry about because they aren't trying to figure out how they're going to get food or shelter or healthcare
