@RaymondPierreL3 thanks for the response Raymond. As a Adelaidian I’ve watched the submarine debate for years. I thought with the French subs, that the task was finally done. Morrison’s diplomatic car crash with the switch to AUKUS did not appear thought-out. I understand about the silence of the subs and how long they can remain below. I just don’t see value for money. I can’t imagine their ever being used to sink another boat or dispatch a missile. Can you actually imagine Australia using these boats to fire at China? So what deterrent are they? Meanwhile there is the concentration of cost plus all the nuclear waste Australia will end up having to deal with. I imagine we’ll get the US waste eventually too. Neither the Coalition or “small target” Labor have sold me on it. I think we could use the ADF funds better.
