If they wear a "covering" it is a chador; a half circle cape that goes on the head, and drapes around the body. It does not cover the face. Most are black, but for the more creative, floral material might be used. Ask me how I know this... Tehran American School, 1970-71 school year. Some of my step-family still live there. I hope they are ok.
