I'm listening to Fear Inoculum by #Tool. Danny Carey is possibly the drummer I admire more than anyone and Maynard is just the most incredible song writer and composer. But it got me thinking about what genre they are. Apple Music has them down as metal, but I wouldn't class them as metal. Apple goes on to mention influences from #ProgMetal, #SpaceRock, #StonerMetal and #PostRock, and how they influenced #AltMetal. What genre would you put them as? I'm making up 'progressive alt-rock' for them.
