Oh I agree I was just trying to provide a contrast angle, to emphasize the point. Of course there were good, but clearly too many leaked through, and while the blanket answer is ‘corrupt power strives for power,’ I believe in a more nuanced kind of way. Obviously having Einstein was a boon, but what if he’d been the kinda shit we deal with today? White-Christian-nationalist Einstein sounds like a worst-case scenario. We got off lucky and that’s putting it nicely.
