@sundew Cars used to be quite tall, then the mantra became "longer, lower, wider" in the 1950s, especially in the US & Canada. This lasted into the 1970s, when changing regs caused industry-wide downsizing. It's as much about fashion as anything. Unfortunately, it does impact efficiency when it comes to drag coefficients and frontal area. He is on point as far as these things not making sense and we need to do better.
