  • Yeah....it's sad but they have been doing a slow march into becoming more like a Google-ghoul. I still do use them for all "normie" stuff. Email, by it's very nature, is not secure. Unless you encrpyt the text before it touches a network, it's accessible in some fashion. An online option? Tuta is good. Email is good for receiving bills, collecting spam, etc... It's not a private communication tool to begin with. Running your own email infrastructure is the only way to know it's safe. E2E chat like Matrix, Threema are better for communications. VPN's? Mullvad is very solid. Yes, I do still use ProtonVPN for some things but if I really need something super safe, it's Mullvad. The idiot in in Atlanta that got nailed. Proton was not the only gap in his opsec. He used a traceable credit card when he made his payment. Use a throw away card, like something you pay cash for at a Walmart. Yes, Privacy[.]com cards work well for safe transactions buy they are still traceable to you as Privacy does comply with "lawful" inquires.
