@ovid No, I read a lot of Hofstadter in my youth and wanted to be an AI researcher. I am still in software, though, and that was also on the menu. I'm also happily married, which I guess I'd kind of implicitly assumed, but not really dreamed about, as such. And I live in the woods in a log cabin, and that was *totally* not on the menu! But is also awesome.
