If anyone wants some schadenfreude material… I wrote a contrafact of “My funny Valentine”. I wanted to make a Valentine’s Day present for a friend and I thought she might find a contrafact of that tune funny. So I made a handwritten copy and went to the bar where she always works on weekends. But that time she was not working so I walked out with the handwritten copy still in my jacket's pocket. I went to a jam session where someone dropped my jacket while I was on stage, and I didn’t notice that the sheet fell out. I only realized it when I was back home. So not only I missed the window to make a Valentine’s day gift — I lost the gift. Well, measure spacing was not all that good anyway. I need to practice my music handwriting. But I missed the window now. I think I’ll just send her a digital copy and a recording. #music #valentines
