My best architectural & design decisions are the product of letting my mind wander in perfect silence.
There’s this brain worm in tech that you should delegate all your thinking to, or at least constantly collaborate with, agents. The problem is that the nature of that kind of thinking is incredibly narrow and monotonous.
LLMs are made of language, but the mind has so many other ways of cogitating, and a lot problems are best engaged with nonlinguistic thinking.

@thure@hci.social It's not even thinking that happens in LLMs, we shouldn't call it that. LLMs don't think; they stochastically calculate the most probable sequence of letters and words as a response. LLMs cannot really understand, as they lack the basic foundations of human comprehension. They can only create an illusion in the form of linguistic output. Due to these technological limitations, the result is usually a form of faulty mediocrity – not exactly what you aim for in a creative design process.
