@BrentToderian@mastodon.online and some of his associates have started the "Urban Truth Collective", an organisation dedicated to combatting lies about good urbanism: https://usa.streetsblog.org/2026/03/05/urban-truth-collective-straight-talk-about-the-joy-of-cities-in-an-age-of-disinformation Most of these lies are collateral damage from the fossil fuel industry's anti-climate change efforts. This is one way that urbanists are fighting back. More to come !

@BrentToderian a great example of this is the infamous "15-Minute Cities" conspiracy, which was started by an anti-climate change group: https://www.desmog.com/2023/02/16/revealed-the-science-denial-network-behind-oxfords-climate-lockdown-backlash/ They spread lots of disinformation about supposed "climate lockdowns" that were coming and the 15-Minute City was just the one that stuck. Their goals had nothing to do with cities; good urbanism was just collateral damage.
