@judgedread@detroitriotcity.com the main problem with the draft was that it was unevenly applied, allowing exemptions and workarounds that permitted a large number of elites to find ways to not go die in the jungle, while the regular guy who couldn’t get into college or who didn’t have a friendly family doctor to diagnose him with “bone spurs” was out of luck, which is why those hippie weirdos were salty about it in the first place (“it ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one”)
note that this is the way Nixon began ending the draft - random draw, reduced deferments and exemptions

The correct view is 'the draft is slavery and the state should be overthrown and all involved thrown in a wood chipper.' You are far too middle class in your morality.
