I think the bigger issue is that the FBI was able to obtain the data.

Unfortunately, the FBI can ask the Swiss govt to get that info from Proton and Proton has to give info the Swiss govt requests based on their laws, hence why it was payment info. It’s talked about in their privacy policy.
