What do you do when you're out of injera

When eating Ethiopian food, you get some kind of stew served on top of a large flat injera bread. You’re supposed to scoop the stew and eat it with the bread. But what do you do when you are out of bread and have more stew left? Just eat it with your hand?

Normally you get extra bread rolled up and served with it too, in my experience. I suppose you can ask for more, or just use a spoon.

Ask for more injera. It’s cheap, they have a lot of it, and they’ll probably be happy to provide you with more gratis. That being said, sure you can just eat it with your hands if it isn’t too hot.

“Give a man injera and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to make injera and you feed him for a lifetime.” This was my solution with naan/roti at least. I wish I had African food available near me.
