@BarelyEagle@poa.st @madcuzbad@nicecrew.digital @EvilSandmich@poa.st @KingOfWhiteAmerica@poa.st @Largo@poa.st @Terry@poa.st A lot of people don't realize that Iraq was a perfect storm for an attacker. Ethnically/sectarianistically riven with most of its population contained within a relatively narrow corridor, open dry plains everywhere and little defensive geography of value. Against a conventional force that was big on paper but had weak morale and leadership, and at the time fairly mediocre equipment that was under-utilized because of logistical issues. At the height of ((our)) empire? We'd almost have to have been TRYING to lose, to lose that one. Media might have made overthrowing Iraq look like some big achievement, but kicking in the assholes of Arabs is no badge of honor or achievement, and years of urban insurgency made even that achievement bitter to taste.
