@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems i mostly agree with this except for "just fork it", it's simply not realistic.
i think it's important to see this as a form of takeover of open source software where it has slowly been degraded from a form of fostering community and knowledge into kind of this turbo-productivity super-growth ideal that's a staple of capitalism and commodification, and even though i think that harassing people for using X or Y (no matter how evil it may be) is honestly a waste of time and resources that serves no purpose. i think this is also part of just twitter/microblogging culture where everything has to be blown out of proportion into "so you hate waffles" type shit
in short, i seriously do not think AI or LLM generated code is even remotely compatible with the idea of open source as a social and humane ideology or model, so it's why I'll be fighting against it, but just being angry and harassing people is some dumbass shit

@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems @nelson@wetdry.world "Just fork it" yeah bro just become a systems engineer just fork the kernel bro that's possible bro just fork the kernel. - someone who definitely isn't going to burn themself out in five seconds after realizing that the kernel is a monster of a source repository that can't be understood by anybody.
