Chekhov believed that in drama, foreshadowing had to be followed up on. He used to say that if you placed a gun on the mantlepiece in Act 1, it had to be fired by the final act. I'm concerned that the Chekhov's gun scenario we now face is this: if a senile old pedo who knows his horrific past WILL catch up to him is given access to the nuclear codes, he will use them by the final act. Perhaps as his final act. If there's anyone sane left in his Cabinet, take the nuke codes away from him. NOW. Even if it's just to save your own scabby life.
