I was intrigued by Rivian; thought I might look seriously at their smaller, more affordable SUV for those situations when i want more ruggedness than my Bolt delivers (for snow; logging roads in the Superior National Forest—use cases for 1 percent of my miles).
But the more they embrace garbage tech, the more I’m turned off.

@MarkBrigham@universeodon.com was disappointed to see the self presenting door handles and electric latches on #r2 . It’s just unnecessary, overly complicated and potentially dangerous. I’m a current Rivian owner, the truck is amazing and can do most everything but it is definitely overly complicated. Putting Rivian aside, we have Tesla (Nazi asshole) or Lucid (niche, Saudi funded) and legacy manufacturers that, at least in the US, don’t really want to sell #EV s and just keep making burners
