The problem with being the quiet and isolated neighbor who almost never makes a sound and is rarely seen is that when you act like everyone else even once, people react like you’ve dropped a bomb, and you receive all sorts of attention. I successfully threw away half of my couch in the recycling bin, but that meant cutting it into pieces and going back and forth to throw it away.
