I would like to take a position in favor of #AgeVerification . In Japan, there has been growing concern that platforms such as YouTube Shorts are contributing to reduced attention spans among children, while a trolling culture known as Reisho-Kaiwai (冷笑界隈, roughly "cynical troll circles") has also become a problem.
The internet certainly has its positive sides, but I want people to understand once again that using it without proper education in digital literacy can easily lead to trouble. Even on the general-purpose message board commonly known as 2ch (Ni-channeru), there used to be a saying: "Lurk for six months before posting." In other words, people who cannot read the atmosphere or understand the norms of an online community should not be using the internet recklessly.
And since trolling, harassment, and online outrage are problems even among adults, I would also prefer that adults who still behave like children keep their distance from social media.
