It’s a lame thing that happens now and then and feels orchestrated like it’s an attempt to brand lemmy as “quirky” or like early reddit. It’s sort of like watching someone who doesn’t understand what a joke is come up with a meme.

So, this is basically how they retconned Jet into an ensign. He was first introduced as a lieutenant with two pips, and the second picture OP posted is basically saying that it was actually just delicious street corn on his collar, not a second pip. I hope this cleared things up.
