So the US and Israel have launched what looks to be a full-scale war with Iran, with Trump claiming that it's because Iran had attempted to rebuild its nuclear program.
Let's remember that Iran HAD curtailed their nuclear program under the JCPOA ... until the USA _violated_ that agreement. (Pet peeve: the media generally said that the US "withdrew" from the JCPOA. There was no withdrawal clause. The agreement was Iran curtailing nuclear program in exchange for the US and Europe curtailing sanctions. Trump unilaterally reinstated all sanctions - that's blatantly violating the agreement.)
Trump has since repeatedly demanded that Iran make an agreement with him about ending their nuclear program. I'm not at all surprised that they didn't. Why would they ever trust that the US would hold up its end of any agreement ever again?
Now, to be clear, the Iranian leadership is brutal, evil, and the prospect of them having a functioning nuclear arsenal is truly terrifying. But the US and Israel sure as hell ensured that war would be the only possible way forward.
