@wod0bow@mastodon.social For you apparently the glass is not even a quarter full. For me it's half and filling . The "open apps" are there. If you don't want to keep up to date with them and don't acknowledge that it is growing, then that's your problem. There are alternatives, you just have to want to see them. Rome wasn't build in one day either.

@Catha@masto.es I have nothing against open source. I've supported it my whole life, as have open access to knowledge and open standards. Realism was always my attitude. In the current situation, you can't convince billions of people to change their habits and abandon convenience. What you can do is try to change regulations that will be more open for other players on the market. And we shoud try to do that. Push EU/US regulators for a better law instead of saying it's raining when someone spits on us.

@Catha@masto.es Rome wasn't build in one day. But it was burried in ashes in few. Same can be with the Privacy. Look at GB. This is right now Orwell nightmare of Europe. Same is going on in some US states.
