Even 1600W is generous. Decent 500W vacuum cleaners existed in 1960s!
The high power and noise was marketing. As unnecessary as a USA V8 engine eating 3x the fuel of car just as good for A to B and maybe better.
Next ban the overlarge SUV and have a special licence showing need for trucks.

They have changed the law for max weight on cars in favor of these tanks, otherwise people needed a truck drivers license...
