@The_Universality@mastodon.novotnykrystof.com @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu for safety relevant products like Personal Protective Equipment, the rules say they have to be tested by so called "notified bodies", commercial labs which are on an approved list. When you buy such equipment, it shouldn't just say CE, but also which standards were followed and who did the testing to make sure the product actually complies. Sadly, very few people know this so small companies get away with selling dangerous products because noone notices. :(
