'Tōtekiko' is just 1 of 5 gardens at Ryōgen-in. For a brief time each day it is illuminated completely by the noon sun.
The temple's 'Ryōgin-tei' is believed to be the oldest in the Daitoku-ji (大徳寺) complex, and may well have been created by Sōami (相阿弥 ?-1525).
