It’s pride in the Capital! Ottawa holds its Capital Pride festival in August to honour the historic "We Demand" protest of August 28, 1971, when more than 100 activists gathered on Parliament Hill to call for equal rights for 2SLGBTQIA+ people. What an honour to celebrate Pride alongside NDP members. At a time when tensions are rising and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community faces growing attacks, we have to keep working together to build communities where everyone can live openly, safely, and with pride.
