I don't generally recommend material published on Youtube, but here is an exception: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot1Ggv6YZyQ is the fascinating tale told by #astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell herself how she discovered quasars in 1967. The presentation is quite accessible given just a modest interest in science, and also grants some insight into academic live in the late 60s. Enjoyable to watch, as that fabulous lady's got wisdom and humor! 72 minutes.

@dj3ei@mastodon.radio I met her and heard her give a talk about it almost 20 years ago and still remember. She was kind and generous with her time to students and a great speaker!
