#NCwx From North Carolina’s Weather Authority on FB: Turning even hotter today as summer rolls on. Happy Tuesday, North Carolina! Partly to mostly sunny skies are possible today; highs will be in the 90s for most areas, a little cooler in the mountains. Heat index values across parts of Central/Foothills/Eastern NC will be in the low 100s. Welcome to August in NC; we will watch to see if a few scattered storms work in for NW today for parts of Central and Western sections later this afternoon and evening, with only an isolated storm chance east. Gusty to potentially damaging wind risk can't be ruled out if any storms get going thanks to the high heat; I'll keep you posted as normal! _Ethan
