Every time I see this type of argument, I wonder what is expected from Proton. No one ever answers that.
Tutanota, another popular provider, also releases data on court orders, so do Mailfence and Countermail. Same goes for messaging services like Telegram or Signal. Most of these also publish yearly transparency reports with detailed information.
This is not new, nor unusual. Pretending that Proton is the outlier here is a lie.

Every time I see this type of argument, I wonder what is expected from Proton. No one ever answers that I have. Over and over again. When Proton says “We are a neutral and safe haven for your personal data, committed to defending your freedom”, but never defends anybody’s freedom, they could either stop lying, or practice what they preach.
