You don't have to wait for the #Perseids meteor shower to peak to have some meteor scatter fun! You have a good chance of making MS QSO's a few days before and after the peak. The best time to do this is during the early morning hours.
I just made simultaneous MS QSO's on 2m and 6m with the same station (WA4CQG, 821mi/1313km) using MSK144 on 144.150 MHz and 50.260 MHz.

Meteor pings are usually shorter on 2m than what you would see on 6m, but can be just as strong.
