@katharta@quietzero.net @thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io I don't Internet hard enough to keep track of who / what to avoid or why. This is the first I've heard of any of this.
I'm grateful for the enlightenment. But also a little terrified to be vilified for having a difficult life which doesn't allow me to bump into information such as this very often. I know it's exhausting and easily exploited, but the benefit of the doubt is necessary to actually grow the numbers of informed allies. Dismissal is righteous but unproductive.

@mwinters@floss.social @thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io That was less directed at you or the layperson, and more toward tech influencers and experts who absolutely should know better. I have personally said the same to a well-known creator of activist guides in person, and his response was "I don't care, it's still got good defaults for the average person." All of computing is built entirely around trust. Is it going to tell me 2+2=4, or will the AI system misidentify the brown person and bring violence down on innocents?
