'User friendly' - been dragged into a procurement process for a software solution to replace an existing. Lots of handwaving about new system being user friendly etc. Anyone suggest specific crtieria that could be used rather than this nebulous language? THX #UX #UI

@lumendecens@mastodon.ie I’m no expert so this is just a personal list… 1. Quality of the help pages. Pick a relatively advanced task and attempt to follow the help instructions step-by-step. Do the instructions actually match the software as implemented? 2. Does the software implement the standard keyboard shortcuts recommended by the operating system? 3. Discoverability. Are items in the UI that respond to mouse clicks actually drawn to look like items that respond to mouse clicks? When items are drawn to look like they respond to mouse clicks, does the illustration reliably indicate how the item will respond?
