If I have to create a new account on some online site, I *never* use the "Login with Google/Apple/whatever" option. I create accounts with username and individual passwords. I don't like the feeling that any third party is in control of my access to this new account. I want to be the only one controlling and even knowing about this account. This is also my major pet peeve with Shopify. I don't want you to send a fucking quick access code to my phone, just you recognized my email address during account creation. That's shit. And I absolutely do not want to use passkeys, so stop trying to shove them down my throat so violently on every site.

@sashag@anarres.family the counterargument is that historically, random small sites using username/password auth are more likely to have credential leaks
