Not exactly. This would be less about introducing real world folklore to fantasy settings (although that would be a worthwhile project, too), but to write folk tales as they might appear in a fantasy setting.
So what kinds of folk tales would be told about elves, dwarves, etc. in a #DnD setting?

Border villages invent cautionary tales about elven promises that mature after a human lifetime; miners tell of dwarven debts inherited by tools; city children whisper that halflings can steal a road from under your feet. Each tale should reveal the teller’s fear, envy, or dependence as much as its supposed subject.
