From what I understand Buttondown is built for selfhosting and Ghost is similar. I don’t think any publishing platform is designed specifically for use as an onion site but I may probably be wrong. Onions, apples, oranges maybe.

The website itself does not have to be an onion site. I am just using TOR to protect my identity, and many platforms I tried blocked me from accessing their websites.
