Well, SMFC are nothing if not ambitious. They're totally welcome to bid. I think it's odd that they're bidding with the intention of keeping both their OPL and Australian Championship spots. All those years of bellyaching about lack of merit in the ALs and they're expecting to be able to compete in every competition under the sun, completely closed shop and without requiring any qualifications (They don't have to perform well in the NPL Vic to get the AC spot, while many other NPL clubs do)
