On the topic of "detecting" or "noticing" AI, I saw the other day that even artists like @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org is now being accused by online commenters of using AI. When he doesn't. We all know that. He's been at it (and active on the Fediverse for years), doing his thing, since 2014 for god sake. Completely free. Using only free software. Long before AI was at the state it is today.
Now, if AI these days can mimic an artist, such as David, and his style, that is one thing. But to call every human-made creation, including Davids, "AI slop" is a slippery slope indeed. Who will create new things for AI to replicate if all the creators are pushed away as AI by lazy people? Will the future only have AI generated by other AI, generated by AI etc? It is a bleak outlook, no?
